Rationale


This course is integral in equipping students with the skills necessary to undertake leadership roles and effectively manage financial aspects within organisations. This course provides students with an overview of the main finance principles and demonstrates the use of finance tools and techniques to address practical issues and manage effectively the long-term capital of an organisation.

This course aims to facilitate students’ comprehension of the issues and techniques of strategic financial management from both an internal and external stakeholder viewpoint.

Learning Outcomes


At the end of the course, students will be expected to:
(i)    Demonstrate an understanding of the significance and the role of Finance, as well as the main valuation concepts and techniques.
(ii)   Analyse financial statements’ information.
(iii)  Implement techniques of strategic financial management and basic principles of Risk and Return.
(iv)  Apply knowledge gained on Capital Structure Analysis and use key Management Techniques within their workplace.
(v)   Facilitate critical review upon setting financial strategic management decisions.
