This course is a critical component to this programme as it provides the students with an in-depth understanding of Supply Chains and Logistics. It identifies the key drivers and emerging trends within the industries and markets, while also exploring the structure and management of global and international logistics and supply networks. These are essential elements for effective business management. 

This course aims to examine the main activities involved in global and international logistics and supply chains management.

Learning Outcomes


At the end of the course, students will be expected to:
(i)    Describe the development and management of the logistics function and their importance in achieving business success by creating value throughout domestic and global supply chains.
(ii)   Evaluate the systems involved in the transportation of goods, their modal split and comparative strengths and weaknesses.
(iii)  Describe the importance of customer relationship management to successful logistics, whose value can be a powerful driver of customer success.
(iv)  Compare distribution strategies to balance responsiveness and efficiency.
(v)   Provide analysis of a valuable approach that all logistics managers can use to identify and reduce important costs in the supply chain.
