Description:

Module Description
During this module, students will be introduced into the attributes of energy policy that may include legislation, international treaties, incentives to investment, guidelines for energy conservation etc. Furthermore, it will address issues of energy development including energy production, distribution and consumption.

Module Aim
The aim of the module is to equip students with practical working knowledge, for them to critically engage in an appraisal of the key energy challenges.

Module Learning Outcomes
After completion of the module students should be able to:
1. Analyse key global challenges and issues in oil and gas industries
2. Explain environmental issues regarding the energy use
3. Evaluate the influence of national and international environmental policies on energy markets
4. Examine the energy policy frameworks, strategies and support mechanisms in a broader international context
