This module consolidates the knowledge acquired and skills developed in earlier modules intended to prepare you to execute a piece of independent and original work.
The module aims to support you in the research and development process suitable for conducting an appropriately managed project, whilst improving your research skills and refining your ability to use them productively. It also aims to help you to offer evidence of self-management in respect of planning, recording and evaluation within the original work produced.

At the end of this module, students will be able to:
Knowledge
1 Have in-depth knowledge of a specialist topic or area within their specialised field in social sciences (COI)
Thinking skills
2 Demonstrate understanding of different theoretical and policy positions in specific field of study (COI, SID,CID, DP)
3 Use a variety of field-specific sources (e.g. UN-EU-UNHCR-UNDP-databases) as information sources to articulate and support critical arguments (DP, IC, COI);
4 Articulate and develop evaluative reports on socio-political and developmental processes in specific contexts (COI, SID, CID, EID, CC, IC)
