RATIONALE
This module is concerned with the law of registered companies under common law. The module examines the registered company alongside other forms of business model including sole traders and partnerships. It then focuses on the different aspects of Company Law including formation, governance, funding and dissolution. This module will be of particular interest to those students who are considering a career as a solicitor as it takes a practical approach by focusing on the application of the legal principles of Company Law to realistic case studies.

AIMS
Through the completion of this module students will:
●    Evaluate the different principles and rules of company law.
●    Understand the procedural and substantive aspects of company law.
●    Demonstrate how to apply company law principles to factual scenarios.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of this module, a student will be able to:
1.    Critically evaluate and apply legal principles and detailed rules of company law to practical problems.
2.    Critically evaluate the principles and rules of company law which regulate the different interests in companies.
3.    Critically evaluate the impact of recent reforms and developments in company law.
