RATIONALE
The Independent Project module offers students the opportunity to expand their knowledge in specific areas of Business Management that align with their career goals. To participate in this module, students must select and research a suitable topic within the Business Management field. By working on this project, students with explore their interests and the practical applications of their chosen subject area, find innovative solutions to business problems and learn about methodological approaches and ethical considerations in research at level 3.
AIMS
The main aim of this module is to help students to:
- Acquire basic research and planning skills
- Comprehend research aim and objectives
- Become familiar with topics that comprise their undergraduate degree subject
- Develop a knowledge base for a discipline of study
- Identify areas of interest
- Develop self-directed study
- Use of learning resources
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of this module, students will be able to:
- Expand their knowledge and deepen their understanding into a specific area of interest within Business Management;
- Conduct independent research on their chosen topic, promoting critical analytical thinking and problem-solving;
- Develop research questions and design research projects that address those questions;
- Understand the research process and give them the skills to conduct independent research;
- Foster their ability to communicate research findings clearly and effectively.
