Rationale 


This course aims to provide students with a broad understanding of human rights issues from a domestic and international perspective. Topics covered during this course include: the history of human rights law, constitutional provisions and other laws touching on human rights. Students will be familiarized with the international instruments and convention as sources of human rights law.

Learning Outcomes


At the end of the course students will be expected to:

(i)    State the foundations of human rights.
(ii)   Critically relate the constitutional principles and human rights.
(iii)  Articulate progressive human rights policies.
(iv)  Defend human rights positions.
