Rationale


Events Management consists an integral part of the public relations discipline and practice that could not be left out from this degree. The course is dedicated to the strategic planning, staging and management of events, through which the students will gain an insight into working in the events industry, examining real-life case studies and learning from industry professionals. With an emphasis on both creativity and business management, this course will explore the inspiring and rewarding procedure that this specialisation entails. 

Learning outcomes


At the end of the course students will be expected to:
(i)    Define the key objectives for events management and planning.
(ii)   Define the role and purpose of event-planning within small and big scale organisations.
(iii)  Describe the techniques and strategies required to successful events management and planning.
(iv)  Develop strategies for different kind of events, corporate and public.
(v)   Apply the relevant project management principles and techniques to the development of events from corporate to parties.
(vi)  Design, plan and budget events according to the client’s brief.
(vii) Implement industry knowledge to support special events and gain a competitive advantage in the market.
(viii) Assess the quality and success of events.
(ix)  Apply organisational, communication and interpersonal skills to maintain strong relationships, overcome conflicts and ensure a smooth planning process.
